Der 1.Teil beschreibt die Einrichtung von Lazaretten in Glauchau, zitiert Danksagungen von Frontsoldaten an Spender von so genannten "Liebespaketen" und beschreibt die einzelnen Schicksale von 15 gefallenen deutschen Soldaten.

Teil II: 1250 Namen ( 58 Seiten )
Die Namen von 1250 gefallenen Soldaten sind in der Ehrenhalle im Bismarckturm auf Gedenktafeln eingemeiselt. Geburts- und Todesdatum, militärischer Rang und Todesart werden in einer 48-seitigen Aufstellung soweit wie möglich aufgeführt um die absurde Grausamkeit dieses Krieges sichtbar zu machen.

Teil III: Das kurze Leben des Alfred Mildner ( 54 Seiten )
Alfred Mildner (18.11.1895 - 06.04.1915) wurde 1914 nach dem Abitur als Kriegsfreiwilliger eingezogen. Bis zu seinem Tod 1915 schrieb er etliche Briefe an seine Eltern, die den Fronteinsatz beschreiben.
